Abax Investments is an independent, owner-operated  investment manager where our success is aligned to our partnerships with investment professionals.

Established in 2003 with a clearly defined investment approach, we manage a differentiated range of equity, multi-asset, fixed income and hedge fund strategies.

Driven by partnerships, we believe that sustainable investment excellence comes from a combination of expertise, integrity, and a deep commitment to shared success. This belief is reflected in our ownership structure, with Abax being 75% owned by employees and charitable trusts.

We dedicate the vast majority of our time to investment matters, deliberately limiting the number of relationships and mandates we manage, to ensure focused attention to continuously improve every aspect of what we do.

With a profound passion for education and conservation, Abax established charitable trusts focused on Early Childhood Development (ECD) and Environmental Conservation. Together they own a minority shareholding in Abax, using dividends to fund meaningful initiatives while building long-term capital for sustainable upliftment. These programmes directly improve education, create employment, and protect South Africa’s environment. Our team is actively involved in the administration and ongoing work of these trusts ensuring that as Abax grows, so too does our positive impact on future generations.
