Wallie van der Walt

Wallie joined Abax Investments in 2011 as a fund manager.

Prior to joining Abax Investments he worked at Sanlam Investment Management. He joined Sanlam Investment Management in 1999 as a derivative specialist. His responsibilities included managing passively managed mandates worth R12 billion, co-managing the Absolute Return Funds range and initiating a private client derivative broker business for Sanlam Private Investments. In 2006 Wallie founded and co-managed a highly successful market neutral hedge fund where assets peaked at R630 million.

Wallie started his career in financial markets in 1996 at Nedcor Securities as an equity derivatives trader.
